Job summary

Bupa Dental in Canberra is seeking a friendly Dental Assistant to join our team. You will support safe clinical care, assist with four-handed dentistry, and help maintain infection control standards across treatment rooms.

Ideally you have 2 years of experience in Australia, enjoy varied duties from chair-side support to appointment scheduling, and you will benefit from ongoing training and career development within a welcoming, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ideally 2 years’ experience working as a Dental Assistant in Australia.
• Experience with four-handed dentistry will be highly regarded.
• Provide chair-side assistance for dental professionals including suction, passing instruments and materials, mixing techniques, assist in x-ray procedures and knowledge of instrumentation.
• Clean and prepare the treatment room, dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards and BDC procedures;
• Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplace.
• Assist with the management of appointment schedules including booking, cancellation, rebooking and confirming appointments as required.

The purpose of the Dental Assistant role is to support the delivery of safe clinical care and procedures and contribute to achieving patient care goals in dental health. This role ensures that all equipment and supplies adhere to infection control standards, including the sterilisation and processing of dental equipment and the treatment rooms are maintained in a safe and organised manner.

• Is responsible for work performed with a medium level of accountability or discretion
• Assist with the management of appointment schedules including booking, cancellation, rebooking and confirming appointments as required.
