Job summary

Sheldon Interiors Pty is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our manufacturing team on the Central Coast, starting from Somersby and delivering to sites around Sydney. You will be responsible for safe, timely delivery, loading and unloading, and supporting installation teams as required.

Essential for this role is a MR Licence, a clear driving history, the ability to use lifting aids, and a reliable, punctual work ethic.

Qualifications

• Minimum MR Licence valid in NSW.
• Clear driving history and no major incidents.
• Able to use manual lifting aids safely.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with good time management.
• Multitasking capability and strong team orientation.
• Able to follow instructions and work with installers.
• Fitness for manual labour and willing to complete pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Packaging items ready for dispatch.
• Load truck according to manifest.
• Unload truck according to manifest.
• Conduct other deliveries and pickups as required.
• Onsite rubbish removal and assist demobilisation of install team.
• Operate and maintain the truck.
• Interpret furniture plans and place furniture per floorplan.
• Assist with installation of loose furniture.
• Restock components and report any damage in transit.
• Report incidents and assist in factory during downtime.
• Manage waste bins at factory.

Become our newest team member as our Delivery Driver for our manufacturing facilities on the Central Coast.

No day will be the same, commencing from our factory at Somersby and predominantly see you visiting Sydney in our trucks with goods for installation. On occasion there maybe a requirement to also service regional areas.

The role could also be suited to those with furniture removalist experience.

During our 30 years of operation, Sheldon has earnt an enviable reputation of being Sydney’s leading Design and Construct company specialising in workplace fitouts. A team over 75 employees with our Head office in the Sydney CBD and manufacturing facility on the Central Coast.

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

Reporting to the Factory Foreman, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of our products to our various work sites.

Duties would include

Packaging of items ready for dispatch

Load Truck according to manifest

Unload Truck according to manifest

Other deliveries and pickup of components as required.

Onsite Rubbish removal, assist with the demobilisation of our install team

Operation and Maintenance of Truck

You will have to be able to:

Able to interpret Furniture Plan

Place Furniture in position according to floorplan

Assist with installation of Loose Furniture

Restocking of components sent back from site

Reporting of any damaged product in transit

Reporting of any incidents

Assist in the factory as required during downtime

Manage the waste bins at factory

Hours of Work:

Standard hours apply, however start and finish times may vary depending on site location.

When delivering to site:

Monday to Thursday:4:30am – 1:00pm

Friday:4:30am – 10:30am

When based at the factory:

Monday to Thursday:7:00am – 3:30pm

Friday:7:00am – 3:30pm

Essential for this role:

Minimum of MR Licence

Clear driving history

Able to use manual lifting aids

Reliable, punctual and hardworking

Able to follow instructions

Physically fit for manual labour tasks and willing to complete a pre-employment medical exam.
