Job summary

Rheinmetall Defence Australia in Redbank, QLD is seeking an Assembly Mechanic / Fitter to complete mechanical build tasks for Boxer vehicles and subsystems in MILVEHCOE. You will follow Manufacturing Instructions, Engineering Drawings and quality standards, contributing to first-run production.

Join a multidisciplinary team in a safety-conscious environment; you may operate cranes and assist with vehicle movements while maintaining WH&S compliance and ability to travel for short training periods.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and interpret production drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
• A high level of self-motivation, initiative, the ability to work unsupervised and willingness to participate and contribute as part of a team.
• The ability to travel interstate or overseas if necessary for short training periods (infrequent).
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Complete assembly tasks for Boxer vehicles and other vehicles in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Engineering Drawings, Quality Standards and WH&S requirements.
• Rework assembly tasks including fitting protection plates, brackets and electronic subassemblies/cables/labels.
• Vehicle build tasks from hull to finished vehicle, including mechanical and electrical tasks.
• Assist with vehicle movements within the facility in accordance with site rules and licensing requirements.
• Perform crane operation and lifting tasks in accordance with safe working instructions.
