Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Tradesperson Assistant to join our Defence team at Robertson Barracks, NT, supporting USMC vehicles and equipment. You will assist with preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs across a diverse fleet including Light Tactical Vehicles and Humvees in a structured, team‑based setting.

This full-time position offers a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a Tradesperson Assistant role, workshop or similar hands-on support role.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence (manual).
• Strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience undertaking tyre inspections and basic tyre maintenance highly regarded.
• Current Forklift Licence highly regarded.
• Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist trades personnel with preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs on USMC vehicles and equipment, including routine servicing tasks such as oil and filter changes, lubrication and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Support tyre fitting, inspections and general workshop activities to ensure vehicles and equipment remain operational and serviceable.
• Assist with stores activities, including the movement and management of parts, tools and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment and operate plant and equipment where appropriately trained and licensed.
• Adhere to all regulatory, safety and contract-specific requirements.
