Job summary

A leading Defence contractor is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for a permanent or long-term role based in Canberra. This role involves delivering engineering expertise for the development of Defence capabilities. You will engage in requirements engineering, system architecture design, and integration & validation tasks while collaborating with various stakeholders. Candidates should have over 5 years in Defence Systems Engineering, a relevant degree, and excellent communication skills. Australian citizenship with TSPV or NV2 clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in Defence Systems & Software Engineering within professional or government organizations.
• Degree-qualified in Engineering or related field, with relevant postgraduate experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse, and document system requirements.
• Develop high-level system architectures and ensure interoperability.
• Lead verification and validation testing for software solutions.
• Apply digital engineering methodologies to model complex systems.
• Conduct system safety assessments and hazard analysis.
• Collaborate with software teams and Defence stakeholders to resolve issues.
