Job summary

Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for a strategic Policy & Program Manager (APS5) within the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA). The role sits in the Workforce, Industry and Supply Chain (WISC) Division and supports evidence-based policy and program delivery for a national defence initiative.

The successful candidate will coordinate delivery across workforce, industry and supply chain priorities, interact with senior executives and government stakeholders, and ensure outputs

Qualifications

• Strong judgement, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in complex stakeholder environments.
• Experience contributing to policy and/or program delivery in a government setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with senior audiences.
• Ability to research, analyse and synthesize information from multiple sources to provide practical, evidence-based advice.

Responsibilities

• Support development, coordination and implementation of complex policy, strategy, program, analysis and engagement activities for Australia’s submarine enterprise.
• Provide high-quality advice to support strategic decision-making by senior executives and stakeholders.
• Assist with strategic assessments, performance analysis and policy development for workforce, industry and supply chain decisions.
• Prepare briefs, submissions and analytical products for sensitive issues.
• Apply governance, risk management and reporting practices to workstreams and projects.
• Engage with Government, Defence, industry, academia and international partners to achieve outcomes.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver outputs within deadlines.
• Ensure alignment with security requirements.
