Job summary

Northern Beaches Hospital in New South Wales is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for a maternity leave contract in the Day of Surgery (DOSA) ward. The role runs for 12 months with a possible extension, starting soon.

You will prepare patients for procedures, conduct pre-operative assessments, obtain consent, and ensure accurate documentation. You will work with theatre and anaesthetic teams, support theatre flow, educate patients, and contribute to continuous improvement while upholding NSW

Qualifications

Registered Nurse – Division 1 with AHPRA.
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
Current clinical knowledge and problem solving ability.
Commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Understanding of professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for procedures including pre-operative assessments and consent.
Coordinate with theatre and anaesthetic teams and transfer to operating suite on time.
Provide patient education and monitor clinical status in the Day of Surgery ward.
Support continuous learning, quality improvement, and compliance with NSW Health policies.
Assist in maintaining a safe, patient-centered environment.
