Job Function: Data Management, Network Data Modelling and OSS Transformation

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Specialist to support telecommunications data transformation and network modernisation initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing complex network and operational data, designing scalable data models, defining transformation and migration rules, and improving data quality across OSS and network inventory platforms.

The position requires strong experience across physical, logical, service, resource and product data domains, along with the ability to translate business and operational requirements into structured, standardised and implementation-ready data models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse data from legacy OSS, network inventory and service management platforms to understand data structures, relationships, dependencies and quality issues.
  • Design logical and physical data models covering network, service, resource, product and inventory domains.
  • Define canonical data models aligned with TM Forum standards, including the Shared Information/Data Model.
  • Develop source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, object-classification rules and migration specifications.
  • Identify gaps between existing data structures and target-platform requirements, and recommend appropriate remediation approaches.
  • Define and validate relationships between physical devices, ports, slots, cards, interfaces, circuits, links, services and logical network entities.
  • Support inventory consolidation, data migration and data modernisation initiatives across complex carrier-grade environments.
  • Validate migration outputs, investigate data discrepancies and coordinate the correction of mapping or transformation errors.
  • Develop data-quality rules and controls covering accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, traceability and referential relationships.
  • Model fixed, fibre, transport, IP, broadband and mobile network domains, as applicable.
  • Support graph or topology-based representations of network infrastructure and service relationships.
  • Work with business analysts, solution architects, network SMEs, developers and operational stakeholders to validate data requirements and models.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into functional specifications, mapping documents and implementation requirements.
  • Support product, service and resource catalogue modelling for telecommunications services.
  • Contribute to workflow automation, service qualification, technical feasibility, order decomposition and resource-reservation processes.
  • Support the integration and exposure of data through TM Forum Open APIs.
  • Prepare data dictionaries, entity-relationship models, mapping documents, data lineage, business rules and model documentation.
  • Participate in workshops, design reviews, testing, defect resolution and migration-reconciliation activities.
  • Provide data-modelling and telecom-domain guidance to delivery teams and business stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in data analysis, data modelling, data transformation, data migration or OSS implementation.
  • Strong experience in telecommunications data domains, particularly network inventory, service inventory, resource inventory or product catalogues.
  • Demonstrated ability to design logical and physical data models.
  • Experience modelling complex entities, attributes, hierarchies and relationships.
  • Strong understanding of physical and logical telecommunications network structures.
  • Experience with legacy-to-target data mapping, transformation-rule definition and data migration.
  • Knowledge of data quality, data validation, reconciliation and migration-defect management.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating them into functional and data specifications.
  • Understanding of OSS/BSS architecture and telecommunications service fulfilment or assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of TM Forum standards, including SID and Open APIs.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed, cross-functional and multicultural delivery teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with excellent attention to data accuracy and traceability.
