Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Data Scientist in Australia to partner with Global Supply Chain teams on forecasting, optimisation, predictive analytics, and automation. Based in Sydney (Macquarie Park) with opportunities for Adelaide, Brisbane, or Auckland, you will translate business challenges into scalable data-driven solutions that improve operations.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL proficiency.
• Experience developing forecasting, optimisation, and machine learning solutions.
• Understanding of statistics, model evaluation techniques, and validation methodologies.
• Understanding of software development best practices, including testing, version control, reproducibility, model monitoring, and maintenance.
• Proven experience taking analytical or machine learning solutions from development through to production deployment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions.
• Ability to clearly communicate model outputs, uncertainty, limitations, and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Architecture and Platform teams to productionise solutions using enterprise AWS infrastructure and established technical standards.
• Monitor, maintain, and enhance deployed models and analytical solutions.
• Document model methodologies, assumptions, limitations, dependencies, and operational requirements.
• Communicate findings, risks, recommendations, and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to use-case prioritisation, backlog refinement, and the continuous evolution of technical ways of working.
• Support communities of practice by promoting technical capability building and improving data literacy across Global Supply Chain and the broader Data community.
• Ensure analytical solutions are reliable, scalable, transparent, and aligned to business objectives.
