Macquarie Group in Sydney seeks a Data Scientist | Senior Analyst to join the Internal Audit team. You will drive the Model, Data and AI risk audit approach, testing data quality, privacy, sovereignty, and model lifecycle controls across Treasury, Market Risk, and Credit Risk domains.

You will uplift audit techniques, deliver deep-dive analyses, and prepare high‑quality reports for Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee, contributing to robust risk governance and data-driven decision

As the analytical engine within the Model, Data and AI Audit team, you will conduct audit testing across all dimensions of data risk, including data quality, data sovereignty, privacy, and records retention. You will also perform reviews of both traditional and AI models, covering all stages of the model lifecycle across Macquarie. You will play a key role in uplifting the model risk internal audit strategy and capability by strengthening our audit testing techniques used to assess the effectiveness of risk management controls. You will be responsible for performing deep dives into model and data risk controls, identifying control weaknesses, sharing insights and recommendations for improvement, and supporting the team in preparing high-quality audit reports for Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee. Through these reviews, you will gain exposure to a wide range of data infrastructure, business processes, and model types, including Treasury, Market Risk, Credit Risk, and AI and machine learning models.
