About the role

We have a new opportunity for a highly skilled Data Modeller / SQL developer to play a support role in designing the data model on our new enterprise data warehouse using Azure Databricks and DBT.

This role is offered as 1-year fixed term contract with possible extension or permanency.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Data Domain Leader, you will play a pivotal role in designing data model for the new enterprise data warehouse.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, business analysts, and subject matter experts to gather and analyse data requirements and business rules.
  • Work closely with engineers on the implementations of target databases.
  • Work closely with modelling lead on governing the modelling standards and ensuring process is followed.
  • Creation of data mapping documentations,metadata and other related artefacts. Ensure data models align with business objectives and strategies, using best practices and industry standards for data modelling.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed data models and technical specifications.
  • Assist the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support various projects and business-as-usual (BAU) requirements.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in designing dimensional and relational data models.
  • Proven experience in working in a green field environment.
  • Proven experience in delivering models.
  • Creating and maintaining dimensional and relational data models in Erwin or similar tools.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, data dictionaries, metadata, and related artifacts.
  • Champion data governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) controls to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience of enterprise data modelling, including banking industry data models.
  • Capable of using 3NF and Dimensional modelling methods.
  • In depth knowledge of designing and implementing enterprise data model using dimensional modelling approach in at least 2-3 enterprise data transformation projects.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • Proven experience with translating business requirements into appropriate data model to support BI applications that yield actionable results.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Data modelling tool like Erwin, ER / Studio or similar.
  • Knowledge of industry best practice in data governance, security, and compliance standards.
