Job summary

The Data Engineer role with the Ministry of Health's Health Protection NSW in the Epidemiology and Data Systems Branch offers an opportunity to develop and maintain complex data pipelines, data storage and reporting solutions. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate data and support notifiable disease reporting.

This position requires a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, strong experience in data systems, and the ability to design scalable data

Qualifications

• Strong experience in developing data pipelines and analytical services including ingestion, transformation, storage and reporting.
• Adept at designing, developing and maintaining data solutions to meet business and user requirements.
• Experience managing projects within a framework including scoping, design, access management, maintenance and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Design data models, develop database standards, implement and manage data warehouses.
• Develop and coordinate mapping and analysis of data assets for design, delivery and system redesign programs.
• Manage acquisition and provision of data for notifiable diseases with analysis-ready extracts and metadata.
• Build data pipelines to meet functional and non-functional requirements and provide end-to-end data solutions.
