Westpac Group is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to design, build and operate ingestion pipelines, curate data layers, and maintain feature stores for AI/ML workloads in a regulated environment.
You'll work with data scientists and economists, employing Azure, Databricks, Synapse and Snowflake to ensure data quality, reliability and governance across the data platform.

DataX delivers data-driven products and insights to institutional clients, while Economics provides macroeconomic research and forecasting that shapes Westpac’s market voice. Together, these teams leverage shared data assets, tooling, and publication pipelines to unlock value at scale.
This is a role for a sharp, hands-on Data Engineer who thrives in production environments—designing and operating pipelines, curated data layers, and feature stores that enable prompt, trusted, model-ready data at scale.
You’ll complement a high-impact squad at the intersection of Data and Economics, working with complex datasets and modern platforms to support one of the most trusted economic voices in Australia. You’ll build and operate robust data pipelines and curated datasets that accelerate Economics research and AI use cases, ensuring high data quality, reliability, and strong governance in a regulated environment.
