Job description

Base Pay Range

A$150,000.00/yr - A$160,000.00/yr

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high‑impact project implementing a new data lakehouse environment. Reporting to the Data Analytics and Reporting Manager and working closely with the project team, you will play a pivotal role in driving data ingestion, modelling, and maintenance pipelines within the Databricks environment, ensuring data is effectively collected, stored, and organised for seamless querying and analysis.

This is a 12‑month max term contract.

What You’ll Do

Design and oversee end‑to‑end data architecture solutions to drive innovation and efficiency.
Leverage Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and DevOps tools to optimise data processing.
Collaborate with a high‑performing, customer‑focused team in a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure data quality, performance, and security across large‑scale data environments.
Drive best practices in data engineering, modelling, and architecture to support business intelligence and analytics.

What You’ll Bring

Tertiary qualifications in IT or related disciplines (preferred).
Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
Solid understanding of cloud security principles and practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and best practices; contributing to a robust DevOps culture.
Understanding of cloud infrastructure networking concepts, with hands‑on experience in implementation and support.
Australian citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance.
