Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Data Center Technician to support critical infrastructure in Canberra on a freelance, on-site basis. You will install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment, perform cabling, and manage deployments in world-class data center facilities.

This role requires 3+ years in data center operations, strong troubleshooting, and excellent documentation. You will work with engineering and operations teams, with on-call rotations and shift differentials as applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data center operations.
• Expert cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber).
• Experience with rack and stack operations.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• On-call rotation experience is a plus.
• Vendor certifications preferred (Dell, HPE, Cisco).
• ITIL knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions.
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting.

• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.

Work Schedule
