Job summary

McGrathNicol invites applications for a Canberra-based Data Analytics Graduate. You will collaborate with the National Data Analytics team on government and private sector engagements, applying data science, statistics and BI tooling.

This role is designed to build foundational analytics capability and client-facing skills in a structured Graduate Development Program. Successful candidates will be near graduation in STEM and ready to join full-time from February 2027, with support from a buddy

Qualifications

• Final year or recent graduate with a STEM-related Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Interest or understanding in Data Analytics and related disciplines.
• Available to commence full-time work in February 2027.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the National Data Analytics team on Federal Government and private-sector engagements.
• Participate in the Graduate Development Program and develop technical knowledge and professional skills over 12 months.

Our Canberra office specialises in providing tailored Advisory services to help a diverse range of Australian Government clients, ranging from peak funding bodies across various Australian Government portfolios to some of Australia’s largest Government departments. As a Data Analytics Graduate in Canberra, you will work closely with the National Data Analytics team on both Federal Government and private sector engagements. Our Data Analytics team bring together the disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, business intelligence and financial accounting with decades of combined cross-industry experience. We are seeking students with a passion and genuine interest in Data Analytics. A level of understanding or experience with Python, R, SQL, PowerBI and Alteryx is preferred but not essential.

Who you are

• an Australian / New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application (to be eligible for a role in our Canberra office, you must be an Australian Citizen);
• in your final year of (or recently graduated with) a STEM-related Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably with a data science/analytics, business analytics, mathematics, statistics or related major; and
• available to commence full-time work in February 2027.
