Job summary

The Union Dairy Company is seeking a Quality Officer to uphold food safety and quality in its Penola, SA facility. You will participate in audits, collect samples, and prepare COAs for export while helping maintain GMP and OHS standards. This role offers exposure to a state-of-the-art dairy processing environment.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Food Science or related field is desirable.
• Experience in quality assurance or quality control preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and auditing practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain food safety and quality standards per UDC requirements, GMP, FMP and regulatory standards.
• Conduct internal and GMP audits, follow up on audit findings, report non-conformances and ensure corrective actions.
• Collect product and environmental samples, conduct in-house testing including sensory and shelf-life testing.
• Prepare COAs and other quality documentation for sales and export.
• Inspect incoming goods, verify and release to specifications and food safety requirements.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment, ensure accurate results.
• Coach staff on food safety practices and documentation.
• Support customer and external audits, maintain quality systems, contribute to improvements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment and comply with OHS.
