Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited is seeking a Cyber Threat Defense Analyst in Sydney to detect, triage, and mitigate threats across our global cyber landscape. You will actively respond to advanced threats and support proactive defense strategies in a complex enterprise environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with log analysis, EDR platforms, malware analysis, and understanding of threat actor patterns. A minimum of five years in security within large organizations is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with aggregate log analysis using Splunk or similar tools.
• Operational experience with an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platform.
• Understanding of threat actor TTPs and adversarial mindset.
• Ability to perform malware analysis (manual, static, dynamic).
• Minimum 5 years in security or technology roles within large enterprises.

Join Macquarie's Cyber Threat Incident Response team based in our Sydney office as a Cyber Threat Defense Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for detecting, identifying, triaging, and mitigating threats and risks in our global cyber environment.

What role will you play?

In this role you will be responsible for actively triaging (via Splunk, EDR, PCAPS, etc.) and responding to advanced cyber threats targeting Macquarie’s global infrastructure and businesses. You will also be responsible for analysing attack trends facing the organization and industry to better define proactive defensive measures. Analyse critical vulnerabilities and their threat potential against Macquarie, making defensive recommendations as necessary.

What you offer
