Cyber Security Specialist – SACE Board of South Australia

About the Role

As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact projects that support learners, educators, and communities across South Australia and beyond. Whether you are designing bold new systems, supporting educators, analysing data, or delivering programs that make learning more meaningful, your work will leave a lasting legacy.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Document and conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies that minimize the likelihood and impact of cyber incidents.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in cyber security, regularly reviewing and enhancing cyber governance frameworks, risk management strategies, and compliance measures.
  • Focus on upgrading the SACE Board’s overall cyber security posture through raising awareness of cyber security with staff and management and supporting the development of an ongoing Cyber Security Plan.
  • Collaborate with a team of talented, values-led professionals who genuinely care about each other and their work.
What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant experience or qualifications in cyber security risk management and mitigation principles, standards, and tools for identifying and mitigating security threats within a large, geographically dispersed and complex organisation, along with detailed knowledge of related government policies and procedures.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in implementing industry governance frameworks (e.g., SACSF, Essential 8, NIST, ISM) into the cyber operations of the SACE Board, aligning with business objectives.

Remuneration

ASO 7 - $108,109 to $116,864 per annum plus superannuation.

This is a term vacancy up to 3 years.
