Job summary

Darumatic Cloud Native is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join their team in Canberra. You will be responsible for detecting and coordinating incident response to threats against critical electoral systems.

The role requires managing security monitoring toolsets, building cyber security architecture, and supporting electoral events with occasional after-hours shifts. On-site work is required with no remote work available.

Qualifications

• Experience with SIEM tooling, preferably Sentinel.
• Familiarity with Australian Government ISM.
• Experience with endpoint protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS.
• Extensive Windows, Linux, networking, and system administration.
• Experience with cloud security (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Augment operations to uplift cyber security capabilities.
• Maintain cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets.
• Lead cyber security architecture build through client consultation.
• Work primarily in the office; support electoral events as needed.

About The Role

Our client is currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the detection and coordination of incident response to threats, both foreign and domestic, against critical electoral systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible in augmenting the existing operations team to assist in uplifting the existing capability.
• Responsible for the maintenance of cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets and will take a lead role in the build of the cyber security architecture through consultation with client's internal teams to secure this architecture.
• Responsible to work primarily in the office. Ability to work shifts as required in response to cyber security incident, and also to support electoral events at key periods (e.g. close of rolls, polling day)

Skills & Experience

• Experience using Sentinel or a similar SIEM solution is essential
• In-depth familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual
• Experience with security technologies such as endpoint protection, firewalls and IDS/IPS
• Extensive experience in Windows, Linux, networking and system administration
• Experience with security services in the cloud (Azure or AWS)

Desirables

• Experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal government entities
• Extensive experience in cyber incident response
