Job summary

IT Alliance Australia is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Cyber Security and Controls Engineer for a 12-month contract in Canberra, with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the office, 2 days remote). Eligibility requires NV1 security clearance or above.

The role focuses on AI governance and cyber security within government frameworks and international standards. The engineer will implement AI governance controls, DLP, information protection technologies via Purview and Microsoft 365, and

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Australian Government frameworks PSPF, ISM, and Essential 8 and international NIST.
• Understanding AI governance, privacy, data protection, risk management, and cyber security controls.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with technical teams, policymakers, and partners.
• Experience implementing Microsoft Purview, DLP, and information protection technologies for AI governance.
• Experience implementing cyber security and compliance controls within Microsoft 365.
• Experience in AI governance, technology risk, cyber security governance, or information security.

Job description

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Artificial Intelligence Cyber Security and Controls Engineer. This is a long-term contractual position.

Contract Duration: 12 months + 24 months Extension

Work Location: Canberra (03 Days office/02 Days home per week)

Eligibility: You must need to have NV1 Security Clearance or above.

Mandatory Experience

• Familiarity with Australian Government frameworks such as PSPF, ISM, and Essential 8 along with international frameworks such as NIST.
• Demonstrated understanding of AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, privacy and data protection requirements, risk management methodologies and cyber security controls.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including collaboration with technical teams, policy makers, and external partners.
• Experience with implementing Microsoft Purview, DLP, information protection technologies as it related to AI Governance.
• Experience implementing cyber security and compliance controls within Microsoft 365.
• Experience in AI governance, technology risk, cyber security governance, or information security.
