Customs Manager

We're looking for a Customs Manager to lead our customs and biosecurity operations as part of our International Supply Chain team. In this role, you'll oversee a high‑performing team responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant and timely import and export clearances—supporting our ability to deliver great products to customers every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading a team of Compilers and Classifiers to deliver accurate, compliant customs lodgements across air and sea freight.

Managing daily workflow, allocating tasks and ensuring clearance timelines and KPIs are consistently met.

Overseeing tariff classification, valuation, document accuracy and end‑to‑end compliance with the Customs Act, ABF, DAFF and related regulatory requirements.

Acting as the escalation point for complex entries, biosecurity holds and technical queries.

Ensuring 99% clearance before ETA and accurate classification ahead of freight forwarder due dates.

Identifying process improvements to reduce delays, improve data integrity and support operational efficiency.

Maintaining strong working relationships with ABF, DAFF and internal stakeholders across DC, Inventory, Merchandising and Finance.

Supporting a strong team culture through coaching, development, goal setting and ongoing performance feedback.

To be successful in this role you’ll have

A current Customs Broker Licence and DAFF accreditation.

5–7 years' experience in customs, including working with ABF, DAFF and other regulatory agencies.

Experience supervising licensed brokers or customs coordinators.

Strong knowledge of tariff classification, valuation, FTA rules and biosecurity requirements.

Experience using systems such as Expedient, Microstrategy and Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

A proactive, adaptable approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
