nbn is seeking a Customer Field Technician for the Sunshine Coast, a permanent full-time role operating 7am–7pm with flexibility. You will install copper/fibre cabling, set up equipment, identify faults, and support customers in their homes or businesses.
You’ll work independently, receive full training and the necessary tools, and be guided by safety procedures as you grow with the team at nbn to connect communities and strengthen Australia’s digital future.
We’re looking for people based in the Sunshine Coast, who enjoy practical, hands‑on work and are open to trying something new. You might come from a trade, technical background, or any role where you work with your hands. People with experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, construction, civils, hospitality, customer service, manufacturing, and similar industries have all thrived in this position. Safety is at the core of everything we do, and we’re looking for people who value working safely, following procedures, and looking out for their teammates and customers. If this sounds like you, nbn would love to support you as you grow into a Customer Field Technician within our internal workforce. We value the skills you already have and will help you build the ones you need. Join us in shaping Australia’s digital future. In this hands‑on, customer‑focused role, you’ll be helping connect homes and communities, making a real difference every day.
As a Customer Field Technician, you’ll work independently to complete a variety of tasks across different nbn technologies. Your work will include installations, repairs, maintenance, and supporting customers in their homes or businesses. Your day might involve installing copper or fibre cabling, setting up customer equipment, identifying and fixing faults, and ensuring customers feel supported and informed throughout the process. Working hours are between 7am and 7pm, with flexibility based on business needs. You’ll receive full training, all required tools, and ongoing support so you feel confident and set up for success. Safety is a fundamental part of this role—whether you're handling equipment, working in customers’ premises, or completing technical tasks, you’ll be expected to consistently apply safe work practices and follow nbn’s safety procedures.
To be part of nbn is to be part of something bigger. There’s so much more from here. Our pioneering spirit drives us forward every day. Together, we help lift the digital capability of the nation by building and connecting Australia’s best fibre infrastructure into homes and businesses, plus places and things, everywhere. We’re continuing to create Australia’s network—a network made for more. Not just a way for everyone to do the things they love but transforming the way they do them.
