Job summary

SEEK is seeking a data analytics professional to drive customer insights and marketing analytics across APAC markets. You will distill complex data into actionable recommendations, partner with marketing, product and sales, and influence strategic decisions.

Based in Melbourne, you will work with Databricks, AWS, Tableau/Power BI and cloud-based data platforms to build scalable analytics solutions that support cross-market initiatives across APAC, including Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data analytics outcomes in marketing, commercial, or consulting settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Structured problem-solving with ability to distill ambiguous business problems into actionable findings.
• Proficient in SQL, R, Python or similar for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Strong collaboration skills across diverse teams; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Role

This is a key enabling role within SEEK's well-established data analytics function, which was named a semi-finalist in the Centre of Business Analytics (Melbourne Business School) 2023 Practice Prize. As a team, we are data and analytics experts who get marketing and are great at distilling commercial problems to create high-impact insights and/or enable business outcomes. In this role, you will play an important part in delivering customer-focused analytics and contribute to key strategic initiatives across the organisation. We are looking for a structured thinker with experience in customer analytics, as well as a proven experience of providing analytics expertise in cross-functional project teams, helping drive insight to action.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer behaviour/commercial analysis & insight generation. - Collect, analyse, and interpret data from various sources to generate insight on customer behaviour, commercial priorities and/or marketing performance. Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their objectives and deliver analytics that is actionable and drives value.
• Cross-functional collaboration.- Work closely with marketing and commercial teams to understand their data objectives and priorities. Represent marketing in cross functional data projects. Participate in cross-functional projects to delivery data-driven insights into marketing strategy and execution.
• Continuous improvement and innovation.- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in customer analytics. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation to enhance analytics capabilities and deliver efficiency.
• Employment market insight. -Stay abreast of the employment market by monitoring demographic, policy and economic trends that impact the employment sector. Deliver employment market insight to a range of internal and external audiences.
• Data automation and pipeline development. - Design and build robust data pipelines and analytics-ready tables in Databricks to support reporting and self-service analytics. Ensure these workflows are production-ready through reliable scheduling, monitoring, maintenance, and repair.

The Team

The APAC Marketing Strategy team is responsible for shaping the overarching marketing and brand strategy, working closely with segment, product, channel, and country teams to ensure alignment with company objectives. The team manages a diverse portfolio of research studies and market/customer-focused data analytics to uncover valuable customer insights, ensuring the voice of the customer is integrated throughout the organisation. Additionally, the team leads the end-to-end marketing operational alignment, driving effective planning, coordination, and performance across the APAC Marketing team.

This role is part of the Market Data & Customer Analytics focus within the broader APAC Marketing Strategy team and will support markets across the APAC region. Key stakeholders include the Executive and Commercial Leadership Teams, Marketing, Product, Technology, Sales and Service, Commercial Growth and Strategy.

Our team members are based in Melbourne, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, providing an international perspective and collaboration across SEEK’s key markets.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Experience in a data analytics role that delivers tangible business outcomes, preferably within a marketing, commercial or consulting environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to both a technical and non-technical audience.
• Excellent structured problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to engage with an ambiguous business problem, determine the best process for analysis and distil the output into clear, actionable findings for the relevant stakeholders.
• Proficient in data manipulation and statistical analysis using SQL, R, Python or similar.
• Experience with visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview).
• Experience working with distributed data processing and cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Comfortable collaborating and building strong relationships across diverse teams, especially with non-technical stakeholders.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant commercial or quantitative discipline (e.g., commerce, marketing, economics, mathematics, technology).

Other Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Understanding of advanced analytics techniques and procedures (e.g., predictive analytics, statistical modelling) and applied knowledge of ‘when’ and ‘how’ to apply these appropriately.
• Understanding of digital marketing metrics and analytics techniques.
• Proven ability building ETL data applications, using Databricks as a plus.
• Experience working across the marketing/advertising technology ecosystem a plus (eg, Google Analytics, BigQuery, CDP, Amplitude, Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) as a plus.
