As a Custody Officer, you play a vital part in creating a safe and secure environment for detainees. With your professional and respectful attitude, you help ensure their welfare needs are met and their time spent in the Justice system is as smooth as possible. Each day presents challenges, and you have a variety of roles that will keep you engaged and working closely with your team.

What will your day-to-day look like?
  • Safely transport and supervise detainees during critical activities.
  • Participate in court activities for security requirements.
  • Manage conflict and communicate with empathy, making a positive impact on the lives of detainees.
  • Value diversity and display a fair and open-minded attitude towards people in custody.
  • Provide safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public.
  • Enjoy the variety of performing walking and mobile patrols of a designated area.
  • Be responsible for supervising people in custody, escorting them to appointments or court appearances, and maintaining accurate records.
