Job summary

Taungurung Land and Waters Council is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily field operations, ensuring high-quality cultural heritage assessments and lawful compliance within the Taungurung RAP area.

You will lead a team, engage with the community and external stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in heritage management, safety, and operational effectiveness. A strong focus on leadership and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (whitecard)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people
• Knowledge of relevant Victorian acts affecting Aboriginal Victorians
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise, engage and negotiate
• Physically fit and able to undertake field-based tasks
• Ability to work effectively within small teams
• Willingness to follow OH&S requirements
• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence

Responsibilities

• Uphold Taungurung values and strategic pillars in daily operations.
• Lead, mentor and develop field staff and foster an inclusive team culture.
• Oversee all field operations and coordinate staffing and project delivery.
• Maintain compliant records and improve operational workflows and procedures.
• Manage budgets, invoicing and field assets; oversee logistics.
• Build strong relationships with external partners and heritage advisors.
• Set training strategies for field staff and contractors.
• Drive a strong safety culture and implement OH&S management system
