Job summary

Finlay Screening and Crushing Systems – Mackay QLD is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for a fully mobile role across North Queensland. You will diagnose, service, and repair heavy crushing and screening equipment at client sites, operating from a equipped field service vehicle.

The role emphasizes autonomy, safety, and timely reporting. You will complete accurate service reports on iPad/iPhone and maintain strong client communication, with competitive hourly rates and overtime

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy machinery diagnostics and fault finding.
• Previous work with crushing and screening equipment preferred.
• Commitment to site safety and environmental procedures.
• Valid driver's license required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Based across North Queensland, we are seeking an autonomous, experienced Field Service Technician for a 100% mobile, field-based role. There is no workshop base—you will operate entirely on the road, providing expert diagnostics, servicing, and breakdown support directly to customer sites across NQ.

What a typical day looks like:

• On-site Diagnostics: Troubleshooting and fault-finding on heavy crushing and screening equipment (Hydraulics, Transmissions, and Engines).
• Field Repairs: Executing high-quality mechanical maintenance and emergency repairs on-site to minimise client downtime.
• High Autonomy: Managing your schedule and servicing jobs directly from your fully equipped mobile service vehicle.
• Digital Reporting: Compiling accurate service reports and communicating with clients via provided iPad and iPhone.

What We Are Looking For:

• Diagnostic Expertise: Proven experience with heavy machinery diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience working with crushing and screening equipment is highly regarded.
• Safety Focus: A strong commitment to site safety, health, and environmental procedures.
• Core Essentials: A self‑motivated "can-do" attitude and a current Driver's License.
