Job summary

Vertical Scope Group seeks a Cross Domain Solution Specialist to design, implement and manage secure ICT infrastructure and cross-domain solutions for a major Federal Government agency. You will work across complex environments, providing technical leadership and translating business needs into robust technical requirements.

The role requires current TSPV clearance, Australian citizenship, and onsite work in Canberra, with a 12-month contract and extension options.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing or supporting secure ICT infrastructure and cross-domain solutions.
• Strong knowledge of physical, virtual, networking or cloud infrastructure.
• Background in security-sensitive or highly regulated ICT environments.
• Ability to translate business needs into secure technical solutions.

• Classification: APS6 Equivalent
• Employment: 12-month contract, with 2 x 12-month extension options
• Working Arrangements: Onsite, up to 40 hours per week
• Security Clearance: Current TSPV clearance required
• Estimated Start Date: 1 February 2027
• Technical Focus: Cross-domain solutions, secure ICT infrastructure, systems integration, technical architecture and infrastructure engineering

About the Opportunity

As a Cross Domain Solution Specialist, you will support a major Federal Government agency in the design, implementation and management of secure, scalable ICT infrastructure and cross-domain solutions within a highly sensitive operational environment.

Working across complex technology environments, you will provide technical expertise and leadership to deliver secure infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and align with organisational objectives.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical national security capabilities while working with technical teams, stakeholders and vendors to deliver reliable and secure ICT solutions.

• Design and implement secure, scalable cross-domain IT solutions that meet business and operational requirements.
• Ensure technical solutions comply with relevant security standards, policies and organisational requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, specialist advice and guidance to engineering and delivery teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Support the implementation, management and ongoing improvement of physical, virtual, network and cloud infrastructure.
• Work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure effective solution implementation and ongoing technical support.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and integration challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation in accordance with industry standards and organisational requirements.
• Contribute to the delivery of secure, reliable and sustainable infrastructure solutions in a complex ICT environment.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing or supporting secure ICT infrastructure and cross-domain solutions.
• Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure engineering, including physical, virtual, networking or cloud environments.
• Experience working in complex, security-sensitive or highly regulated ICT environments.
• Ability to translate business and operational requirements into practical, secure technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, guidance and specialist engineering advice.
• Strong understanding of ICT security principles, technical standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams, business stakeholders and external vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify technical risks and develop effective solutions.
• Highly developed written communication skills, including preparing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex operational environment.

Experience delivering secure infrastructure solutions within Defence, intelligence or other national security environments will be highly regarded.

• Australian citizenship is required.
• Must hold a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance at the time of application.
• Must be willing to complete an organisational suitability assessment prior to commencement.
• Ability to work onsite in Canberra, subject to operational requirements.
