Job summary

Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, CO is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Critical Care Float Pool. You will provide skilled care across critical care and designated acute settings, float based on needs, and collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and care teams to deliver safe, compassionate care.

The role requires minimum 1 year in critical or acute care, BSN, BLS, and a current RN license.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days.
• Minimum one year of RN experience in critical care or acute care.
• BSN is required. Degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity patients across multiple units.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition using critical thinking.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage complex patient needs, including advanced monitoring and therapies.
• Document patient care accurately and ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Adapt to varying unit workflows and acuity levels.
• Support teamwork, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
