Job summary

Lumi is seeking a senior policy and credit risk professional in Sydney to lead a team responsible for reviewing lending decisions and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards. You will own the credit risk policy and product policy end-to-end, translate regulatory changes into actionable policy, and collaborate with product and Credit teams to keep documentation audit-ready.

You will drive structured quality reviews, identify trends, and quantify the impact of policy changes using data.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in credit risk, credit assessment, QA or policy within financial services.
• Experience in people leadership or readiness for first-time leadership.
• Experience owning or contributing to credit policy and underwriting guidelines.
• Experience engaging with internal or external audit and regulatory stakeholders.
• Excel and data querying skills to interpret policy impact.
• Business lending experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for reviewing lending decisions and assessing compliance with lending guidelines and standards.
• Identify trends, policy breaches or process gaps through structured quality reviews, and recommend practical improvements.
• Own and maintain credit risk policy, underwriting guidelines and product policy end-to-end.
• Run the periodic policy review cycle, keeping documentation current and audit-ready.
• Investigate and quantify the impact of policy changes, using data to support findings before implementing updates.
• Resolve underwriting queries and feed practical learnings back into policy and guideline updates.
• Partner with product and Credit teams on new policy as products evolve.
• Track relevant regulatory and responsible-lending developments and translate them into policy updates.
• Act as a key contact for audit on quality and policy governance.
• Coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
