Job summary

Darktrace in Cambridge is recruiting a Junior Credit Controller to join the Finance team on a hybrid basis, attending a minimum of two days per week at the Cambridge office. You will own the credit control process for a designated portfolio, drive cash collection and reduce aged debt across a rapidly expanding, world-class company.

Key duties include monitoring collections, issuing statements, contacting customers, and supporting global teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or customer service is desirable.
• Strong numeracy and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and telephone manner.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cash collection of outstanding balances within your portfolio and work towards monthly collection targets.
• Follow credit control procedures, issue statements and dunning letters, contact customers by phone using the proper protocol.
• Answer customer queries and provide timely, professional responses.
• Allocate customer payments and maintain the debtors spreadsheet.
• Maintain effective communication with sales and technical teams globally.
• Support the wider finance team on projects to improve cash collection and perform ad-hoc tasks.

Job D description:

We have a new opportunity in our Finance team for a Junior Credit Controller to join us on a hybrid basis out of our Cambridge office, with the expectation of attending a minimum of two days a week.

As a Credit Controller you will own an effective and professional credit control process for a designated portfolio, driving cash collection and reducing aged debt across a rapidly expanding, world-class company. You'll work within the credit control team and alongside finance, sales and operational colleagues globally, protecting good credit control outcomes while keeping customer relationships strong.

No two days are the same, and you'll be balancing multiple priorities at once, so strong communication, superb time management and excellent attention to detail are key.

Day to day you'll be:

• Monitoring cash collection of outstanding balances within your allocated portfolio and working towards monthly collection targets,
• Following our credit control procedures, issuing customer statements and dunning letters, contacting customers by telephone using the correct protocol, and following the internal escalation process where needed,
• Answering customer queries and ensuring a timely, professional response,
• Allocating customer payments and maintaining the debtors spreadsheet,
• Establishing and maintaining effective lines of communication with sales and technical teams globally,
• Supporting the wider finance team on projects to improve cash collection, plus ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Candidate Requirements

Darktrace warmly welcomes applications from candidates with previous credit control experience, or translatable customer service experience, and who are educated to A level or equivalent. You'll bring excellent numeracy and administrative skills, and be confident addressing and escalating matters with colleagues to resolve underlying issues.

It's likely that you'll also have:

• Proficiency in Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook,
• A highly organised approach, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and work unsupervised,
• An excellent telephone manner and effective communication skills,
• A helpful, flexible and pro‑active attitude - a team player who is happy to tackle both new and routine tasks.

Prior Workday Experience Is Desirable, But Not Essential.
