Job summary

DIJGTAL is seeking a senior designer with a sharp eye for branding and multi-disciplinary campaigns to join our Sydney team. You will translate briefs into show-stopping visuals, own visual direction from concept to rollout, and collaborate with Creative Director, Senior Creatives and Digital Marketers.

With 5+ years in agency or in-house teams and strong typography and layout craft, you will build design systems, extend brand guidelines, and push creative boundaries across channels and formats.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in an agency or in-house creative team, demonstrated through a portfolio.
  • Evidence of owning a visual direction from brief to rollout, not only executing someone else’s work.
  • Branding experience, including identity work and applying or extending brand systems.
  • Experience building or working within design systems.
  • Strong typographic and layout craft.
  • Well-versed in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); After Effects knowledge is a bonus.
  • Clear communication and the ability to rationalise design decisions to non-designers.
  • Comfortable moving between mediums and switching between concept work and production work in the same week.
  • Self-motivated, able to work autonomously, and used to holding a line on quality under deadline pressure.
  • Great teamwork skills and a problem-solving attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Set the visual direction for campaigns and brand work. Take a strategic proposition or brief and develop it into a Key Visual and supporting system that the rest of the work extends from.
  • Develop distinct creative territories from a single brief, then take the chosen route through to finished execution.
  • Extend a locked direction across channels, formats and sizes without losing its integrity.
  • Prepare artwork to production standard.
  • Interpret and apply client brand guidelines, and identify where a guideline needs to stretch or be extended for a new application.
  • Present concepts and rationale to internal teams and clients. Explain the thinking behind a direction, defend it where it's right, and adjust it where the feedback is better.
  • Work with project leads to action internal and client feedback across rounds, keeping quality and timing intact.
  • Track industry trends, emerging styles and craft techniques, and bring them into the work where they earn their place.
  • Work as part of an agile, multi-disciplinary team alongside the Creative Director, Senior Creatives and Digital Marketers.
  • Motion design and animation (After Effects) is a nice-to-have.

Job description

We are looking for someone to join the team who can add their own artistic flair to client and internal projects across a range of industries and mediums. This role will be perfect for someone with a mix of Marketing and Branding creative experience who’s looking to grow.

You have an eye for design and detail, passion for all things creative and you strive to push yourself and the boundaries of conventional design. You are a proactive person and comfortable switching between different media. You have a strong background in design and are able to translate briefs into show-stopping designs that communicate the right message in a creative way.

You will be a self-motivated individual that is a team player and also able to work with a high level of autonomy when required. Ultimately, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team including (but not limited to) Creative Director, Senior Creatives, Digital Marketers and Content Strategists to craft solutions that solve business challenges and provide delightful, impactful and relevant experiences.
