$158,345 - $162,265salary package - includes base salary ($139,508 - $142,962), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
(Part-time roles will be paid pro-rata)

About the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the integrity and quality of education at TAFE NSW. As a Course Quality and Self-Assurance Specialist (CQSAS), you play a key role in embedding educational quality, compliance and self-assurance frameworks into course development processes.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of vocational education standards, a passion for quality assurance and the ability to influence and support teams in delivering high‑quality learning outcomes.

CQSAS work across a range of teams within the Course Development and Quality (CDQ) Branch, each contributing specialist expertise at different points in the course lifecycle. While each team has distinct responsibilities, they work collaboratively to support course planning, course development and quality assurance. The CSQAS ensures that TAFE NSW courses are developed and maintained to a high standard, meet regulatory and compliance requirements and support consistent quality outcomes for students, industry and teachers.

Applicants are asked to nominate their preferred focus area as part of their application. The specialist teams include:

• Planning and Reporting
  Planning Course Quality and Self-Assurance Specialists (PQSAS) support Faculties to plan and prepare courses for delivery, including course planning activities and the development of key course planning artefacts. They apply quality assurance and compliance processes to ensure activities are completed accurately and in accordance with TAFE NSW policies, regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Course Development
  Course Development Course Quality and Self-Assurance Specialists (CQSAS) are core members of the course development team, collaborating with Faculties, development team members, and other key stakeholders to design & develop high-quality contemporary learning and assessment resources. They develop key course artefacts, drive quality, compliance, and self-assurance activities, and help ensure courses are fit for purpose, meet regulatory and organisational requirements and are ready for delivery.
• Digital Build
  Digital Course Quality and Self-Assurance Specialists (DCQSAS) support quality, compliance and self-assurance across course maintenance, optimisation and digital build activities within the TAFE NSW approved learning management systems. They provide quality assurance of digital builds, technical configurations and system requirements while supporting consistent, sustainable and high-quality digital course delivery.

• Planning and Reporting:
  • 1 x Permanent Full-Time position
• Course Development:
  • 1 x Part Time position (2 days per week, Wednesday & Friday)
  • 1 x Full time position
• Digital Build - Create a talent pool

A talent pool, valid for 18 months, will be created for this position (across all three focus area), and may be used to fill future vacancies.

With a solid understanding of vocational education and a sharp eye for compliance, you thrive on supporting teams to deliver courses that are both rigorous and engaging.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Appropriate Degree or Diploma at AQF level 5-8 or equivalent, or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary learning and assessment techniques.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the standards and regulatory environment governing vocational education and training.
• Demonstrated experience supporting educational quality and compliance-focused initiatives to drive organisation-wide improvements and outcomes.

Highly Desirable

• Experience using Confluence, Jira and/or Product Creation System (PCS)
