Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a Counsellor for the Community & Individual Support Program at Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. This permanent, part-time role covers 15.2 hours per week with remuneration at $53.43 per hour plus super and NFP salary packaging.

You’ll provide individual, couples and group counselling to strengthen family relationships and support the wellbeing and safety of children and adults in diverse family situations, in a compassionate, non-clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or Behavioural Science.
• Experience providing counselling within a therapeutic context to diverse clients.
• Current Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

Employment Term: Permanent, Part-Time (15.2 hours per week). Location: Maroochydore - Sunshine Coast. Remuneration: $53.43 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay). Your part in our UnitingCare team

As a part of our Family and Individual Support Program, the Counsellor role provides individual, couples and group counselling and education with an aim to strengthen family relationships, prevent breakdown and ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and adults who live in all kinds of families.

This role involves:

• Providing non-clinical adult counselling and education with an aim to cope with challenges and make positive changes in their life.
• Providing a therapeutic process that provides a compassionate environment for individuals to express their feelings, be supported to understand, manage identified emotions, behaviours, and intra-and interpersonal relationships with more clarity and purpose.
• Using range of different counselling approaches and techniques can be utilised depending on the person and nature and complexity of a person’s identified needs.

What makes a difference for us?

• Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Have sound knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to provide counselling and related services within a therapeutic context to a range of clients with issues including, but not limited to, domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, relationship discord and grief and loss.
• Current Drivers Licence.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
