YOUR NEW ROLE

In this RARE BLUE-MOON VIP opportunity, you will be the firm’s sole in-house NSW costs lawyer.
Reporting to the Managing Partner & Finance Manager, you will love having your OWN TERRITORY taking 100% ownership relating to all matters relating to costs for the NSW practice across the entire spectrum including:

• Preparation of Cost Statements and Bills of Costs- drafting and preparing detailed cost statements and bills of costs for party-party and solicitor-client assessments or taxations
• Costs assessment & reviews- preparing either solicitor-client assessment applications or applications for the assessment of ordered costs and applications for review.
• Negotiation/settlement of costs
• Court appearances/advocacy-representing and advising clients in costs-related proceedings;
• Advising on costs law/procedure/compliance- provide expert advice/training to solicitors and clients relating to costs law .

WHO YOU ARE

• are a Costs Lawyer/Legal Costs Consultant/Costs Assessor with minimum 2+ years (or more-seniors welcome) relevant experience;
• have strong knowledge of costs law, including the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules (UCPR), Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW), and relevant case law.
• have proven ability to manage your own costs cases autonomously from start to finish in a busy fast-paced environment;
• are a results-driven + meticulous;
• have strong analytical+communication+ advocacy+ time management+ people skills;
