Job summary

Mace Group is recruiting for a Senior Cost Manager to lead cost planning and procurement on a hyperscale data centre project in Queensland, Australia. You will drive cost strategies, manage budgets and governance while guiding a multidisciplinary team through long, multi-phase delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 8–10 years of cost consultancy experience in critical infrastructure, strong negotiation skills and a focus on sustainability and lifecycle costing within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in cost consultancy.
• Strong cost planning, estimating, budgeting and change control.
• Contract administration knowledge across construction forms.
• Proficient in BIM, digital tools, lifecycle costing.

This role will suit professionals who have experience on large-scale, complex projects and who consistently demonstrate the highest levels of integrity, professionalism and technical excellence.

You’ll need to have:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
• Proven cost consultancy experience and relevant sector expertise within a critical infrastructure environment.
• Strong cost planning, estimating, budgeting, risk management and change control capabilities.
• Knowledge of contract administration, contract management and various forms of construction contracts.
• Proficient in BIM, digital tools, value engineering and lifecycle costing principles.
• Effective stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical problem-solving and sustainability-focused decision making.

This opportunity forms part of one of the most significant hyperscale data centre developments in the Asia Pacific region, delivering a multi-gigawatt, mission-critical campus in Queensland, Australia.
