Job summary

Hutchison Ports Australia is seeking two Trade Assistants to join the Sydney Engineering team, supporting corrosion control, asset condition monitoring and quality assurance across terminal equipment and infrastructure.

This hands-on role provides safety-focused maintenance support in a busy port environment. You will assist with inspections, documentation, coatings preparation, tool handling and general maintenance tasks under supervision, with emphasis on corrosion-related work.

Qualifications

Safety-focused mindset with the ability to work in a maintenance environment.
Physically active role with good manual handling capability.
Not required to be a qualified tradesperson, but strong safety practices are essential.

Responsibilities

Support corrosion inspection and quality assurance across terminal assets and infrastructure.
Assist with identifying, recording and escalating corrosion, coating damage and surface defects.
Take photos, record findings and help maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records.
Assist with cleaning, housekeeping and basic manual maintenance tasks.
Support preventative maintenance inspections, data collection and basic condition checks.
