Job summary

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking a Coordinator Rural Operations to lead rural construction and maintenance across roads, bridges and drainage in the Capricorn Coast region from Yeppoon. This pivotal role combines practical leadership with strategic oversight to deliver end-to-end programs through planning, estimating, procurement, construction, and post-construction activities.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in civil construction and maintenance, ideally in a rural local government or similar environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing operational or field-based teams.
  • Strong knowledge of rural infrastructure including roads, bridges and stormwater systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver capital works and maintenance programs from planning through to completion.

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of rural construction and maintenance programs across roads, bridges and drainage infrastructure.

Location: Yeppoon | Reports to: Manager Construction and Maintenance

Are you an experienced civil infrastructure leader ready to make a real impact across the Capricorn Coast region? We’re seeking a proactive, experienced and capable Coordinator Rural Operations to lead the delivery of a variety of road construction and maintenance programs across the region. The work will draw heavily on your practical hands on experience in similar works and will provide ample opportunity to showcase both your strategic and operational skills in the role. You’ll be well supported and there are excellent opportunities for development, and the work you do will make a direct positive impact on the community we serve.

About the Role:

As the Coordinator Rural Operations, you will:

Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of rural construction and maintenance programs across roads, bridges and drainage infrastructure.

What You Will Bring:

Extensive experience in civil construction and maintenance, ideally within a rural local government or similar environment.

Proven leadership experience managing operational or field-based teams.

Strong knowledge of rural infrastructure including roads, bridges and stormwater systems.

Demonstrated ability to deliver capital works and maintenance programs from planning through to completion.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Sound knowledge of WHS, compliance and risk management.

Construction Industry Induction (White Card) and current C Class Driver Licence.

TRP between $130,588 to $138,449 per annum (QLGIA (Stream A) Level 7), depending on qualifications, skills and experience (inclusive of 12.5% superannuation);
