Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Coordinator Plant Shutdowns for Hope Downs 4. The role supports scheduling and coordinating activities under the Supervisor Plant Shutdowns, ensuring alignment with development plans and production forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Safety-focused approach to continuous improvement and project delivery.
  • Ability to develop detailed scopes of work including labour, materials, and execution methodology.
  • Current WA C Class Driver's Licence (Manual).
  • Trade qualification in mechanical, electrical or fabrication (preferred).
  • Statutory Supervisor exam and compliance knowledge.
  • Training in risk management (BSBWHS411) and related systems (RIIRIS402E/BSBWHS414).
  • Experience with work management processes and management systems such as SAP and Prometheus.
  • Proven track record managing shutdowns or complex projects in fixed plant environments.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with functions and stakeholders to meet duties and schedules.
  • Provide coaching and technical support to Fixed Plant Shutdowns.
  • Coordinate planned shutdown execution activities.
  • Provide technical and safety support to shutdown supervisors and maintainers.
  • Experience with SAP and Prometheus scheduling tools.
  • Prioritise shutdown work by coordinating logistics, labour and materials.
  • Assist with Contractor Management Systems when required.

About The Role

We are looking for a Coordinator Plant Shutdowns to join our Hope Downs 4 operations team. You will support the people scheduling and coordinating activities of the Supervisor. Coordinate daily operational activities ensuring they are aligned to planned development and production forecasts and budgets.

Reporting to the Supervisor Plant Shutdowns, you will

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
  • Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Fixed Plant Shutdowns
  • Pro-actively coordinate and support planned shutdown execution activities
  • Provide technical and safety support to shutdown supervisors and maintainers
  • Experienced in maintenance systems such as SAP, Critical Orders and shutdown management
  • Prioritise emerging and break in work in shutdowns by coordinating logistics, labour and materials
  • Assist with Contractor Management Systems when required
What You’ll Bring

  • Proven ability to develop detailed scopes of work, including labour, materials, access requirements, and execution methodology
  • A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual)
  • Relevant trade qualification (mechanical, electrical, fabrication) (preferred)
  • Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor
  • Approved Risk Management Training
    • BSBWHS411
    • RIIRIS402E or BSBWHS414
  • A clear understanding of work management process and principles
  • Experience in management systems; SAP and Prometheus (Scheduling tools)
  • Demonstrated experience in Fixed Plant operations with a proven track record in managing shutdown activities or delivering complex projects in similar operational environments.
  • Contractor management experience
