Job description
Overview

Coordinator Project Delivery is a full-time permanent role within the Engineering Services and Operations team at Knox City Council, based at the Civic Centre. The role involves active involvement in delivering major capital works and asset preservation across Knox, with leadership of the Civil Project Delivery and Asset Preservation teams.

The position provides engineering support, coordination and management in the preparation, implementation and management of assigned engineering projects, programs and infrastructure services. The Coordinator is expected to pursue strategic, technical and service excellence, demonstrate strong leadership and people management competencies, and uphold the organisation’s values in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Civil Project Delivery team and the Asset Preservation team to deliver outcomes aligned with Knox City Council’s objectives.

• Provide engineering support, coordination and management across assigned projects, programs and infrastructure services from preparation through implementation and delivery.

• Drive strategic and service excellence, including technical leadership and value-based decision making, while embedding Council values across programs and activities.

• Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to champion organisational values and promote effective leadership, direction and people management within the teams.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, contractual requirements and financial governance in project delivery.

  • Understanding of the political environment operating within local government.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed day-to-day decisions.
  • Expertise in contract management, civil design and project management across diverse client groups and asset categories.
  • Financial and budgetary management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage staff.
