Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a dedicated Cook at the Rothwell Nazarene Aged Care Facility to prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements.

You will ensure meals meet IDDSI, allergen and texture-modified needs, deliver dishes that are appetising and correctly temped, support portioning and kitchen operations, and maintain safety, hygiene and documentation.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Food safety knowledge and safe handling practices
• Understanding of IDDSI, allergens and special diets
• Ability to work in a team and follow directions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to resident-centred care and positive dining experiences
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Experience in aged care or healthcare food service is highly regarded
• Satisfy probity checks required by legislation or policy

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements
• Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen, cultural and texture-modified needs
• Deliver meals that are well-presented, appetising and served at the correct temperature
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards
• Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production records
• Identify and report hazards, incidents or equipment faults

Roster : Please clearly state your availability for shifts on your application questionnaire. Shifts can start as early as 6am and may include weekend work

Remuneration : $30.40 per hour + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances
