Job summary

Australian Alliance to End Homelessness seeks an accomplished executive to lead operations, finance, governance and people strategies. As COO, you will partner with the CEO and Board to drive growth, sustainability and social impact across Australia.

You will oversee budgeting, reporting, risk management and program delivery, building high-performing teams and ensuring regulatory compliance in a national charity environment. Highly collaborative leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience leading the finance function, including strategy and controls.
• Proven operations leadership in a similar nonprofit or mission-driven org.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting boards/committees with papers and reporting.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and financial systems including Xero/SharePoint.
• Not-for-profit sector experience advantageous; ability to work nationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to CEO and Board for growth, sustainability and impact.
• Lead financial management, budgeting, forecasting, audits and financial strategy.
• Oversee national operations, governance and risk management.
• Foster a high-performing, values-driven culture and people capability.
• Strengthen governance, compliance frameworks and reporting to Board.
• Drive strategic initiatives and long-term sustainability for mission delivery.
