The role supports business performance through accurate financial reporting, commercial analysis and strong stakeholder engagement, working with operational and finance leaders across Sydney or Orange, NSW.

You'll contribute to informed decision-making, ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement across financial processes and systems

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
  • Minimum two years in a financial accounting role or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive continuous improvement mindset.
  • Team player with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Partner with finance and operational leaders to improve financial performance and accountability.
  • Provide financial analysis including profitability, labour recovery, cost rates and P&L performance.
  • Manage accounts receivable activities including debtor reporting, collections and cash flow management.
  • Assist with taxation compliance (BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT) and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity with reconciliations, controls and governance processes.
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting, audits and compliance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting capabilities and processes.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our high-performing team based in Sydney or Orange, NSW, on a permanent full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated finance professional to play a key role in supporting business performance through accurate financial reporting, commercial analysis and strong stakeholder engagement. Working closely with operational and finance leaders, you will contribute to informed decision-making, ensure compliance with financial obligations and drive continuous improvement across financial processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and analysing monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Partnering with finance and operational leaders to improve financial performance, accountability and business outcomes.
  • Providing financial analysis and insights, including profitability, labour recovery, cost rates and profit and loss performance.
  • Managing and supporting accounts receivable activities, including debtor reporting, collections oversight and cash flow management.
  • Assisting with taxation compliance, including BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT and other statutory requirements.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a financial accounting, management accounting or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and a willingness to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also operating independently when required.
  • A strong commitment to accuracy, integrity and professional standards.
