Job summary

UGL Transport in Sydney seeks a Control Systems Engineer to join the Rail & Technology Systems team. You will design, develop, integrate, commission and support PLC/SCADA and automation across major rail and transport projects.

You will partner with project managers, clients and operations to deliver safe, reliable automation solutions from concept through handover. Strong troubleshooting and communications are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC, SCADA and HMI systems.
• Control systems programming and commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and networking.
• Experience with Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, Schneider and/or Siemens platforms highly regarded.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability.
• Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain PLC, SCADA and HMI systems.
• Deliver engineering solutions from concept design through to commissioning and handover.
• Support maintenance, upgrade and renewal projects across transport infrastructure assets.
• Perform system integration, testing, commissioning and operational support.
• Develop engineering documentation including FDS, FAT/SAT procedures and commissioning plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system faults and performance issues.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations and client teams.
