  • Work closely with engineering, estimating, planning, procurement and legal teams to align technical and commercial contract inputs.
  • Provide the post‑contract commercial team with documented risks on hand‑over of executed contracts.
  • Facilitate internal review of GNI contractual documents, incorporating stakeholder feedback to ensure comprehensive contract development.
  • Engage with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to address contractual queries and promote commercially astute, risk‑aware decision‑making.
  • Work with senior team members as required to progress contract negotiations.
  • Represent the company in meetings and negotiations, presenting and discussing contract terms and addressing concerns raised by clients or suppliers.
Position Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a contracts role or a commercial role with exposure to contracts within the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Proven experience reviewing and negotiating construction contracts (preferably including EPC or D&C contracting models), consultancy agreements and subcontracts.
  • Familiarity with major construction contract forms (e.g., AS, NEC & FIDIC).
  • Solid understanding of the pre‑award contract lifecycle including tender request assessment, contract review, negotiation, execution, hand‑over and close‑out processes.
  • Competence in interpreting contract terms and providing commercially sound, pragmatic contractual advice aligned to project and legal objectives.
  • Capacity to draft, propose and consider contract amendments quickly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies and risk registers.
