Job summary

Synergy Project Services Pty is seeking a Contracts & Procurement Specialist to be embedded within a client’s site‑based commercial team in Armidale, NSW. The role reports to the Commercial Manager and focuses on planning and implementing best‑practice contracting and procurement strategies to satisfy business requirements, including building mutually beneficial partnerships with contractors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Business, Law or related discipline is desirable.
• Experience with contracts and procurement in resources/heavy industry.
• Experience across full contract lifecycle from tender to close-out.

Responsibilities

• Proactively contribute to develop contracting and procurement strategies to align with business priorities.
• Coordinate tenders and RFQs with probity and best practice standards.
• Evaluate tenders and provide award recommendations.
• Manage contractors and supplier performance and ensure contract compliance with terms.
• Administer contract compliance and assess claims and variations.
• Participate in contractor meetings and maintain clear communication and reporting.
• Engage in dispute resolution processes and contract close-out.
• Maintain records of contracts and ensure renewals or new tenders are actioned before end dates.

Job description

We are looking for a Contracts & Procurement Specialist to be embedded within our clients site based commercial team reporting to the Commercial Manager.

Purpose:

Work closely with the clients Commercial Manager to plan and implement best practice contracting and procurement strategies to satisfy business requirements, including building mutually beneficial key business partnerships with contractors and suppliers

Role Accountabilities:

• Proactively contribute and assist the Commercial Manager to develop Contracting and Procurement Strategies – Plan, Execute and Maintain to ensure procurement packages are well defined and that the strategies align with business focus/priorities/needs.
• Coordinate tenders and RFQ's ensuring probity and best practice procurement standards;
• Coordinate and contribute to the evaluation of tenders and provide recommendations to award;
• Manage contractors and suppliers performance and ensure compliance with all relevant Terms and Conditions of the contract;
• Administer contract compliance and assess claims and variations;
• Participate in contractor meetings and promote clear and regular communication and reporting;
• Engagement in dispute resolution processes and commercial/contract close out.
• Maintain a clear and concise record of contracts in place and ensure renewal or tenders are actioned prior to contract end dates;

Qualifications/Experience:

• Degree qualified in Business, Law or other relevant discipline (desirable).
• Contracts and procurement experience within resources and/or heavy industry.
• Experience with full contract lifecycle from development of tender to contract closeout.

This is a site based role working Monday to Friday. Preference will be given to candidates that reside in, or are willing to relocate, to the Armidale area. However, DIDO options will be considered .

This role requires that candidates have working rights in Australia.
