Job summary

Enerven Energy Infrastructure Pty is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to provide commercial leadership across major energy projects. You will be embedded within project delivery teams, owning commercial and contractual management from mobilisation through to completion, while guiding Contract Administrators and coordinating with clients and subcontractors to maximise project performance.

You will collaborate closely with Project Managers to manage risk, cost exposure and scope changes,

• Strong knowledge of contract administration, variations, claims and contractual obligations.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

At Enerven, we are delivering some of the nation's most significant energy and electrical infrastructure projects. As our portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to provide commercial leadership across major projects and help drive successful outcomes for our clients, partners and communities.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be embedded within project delivery teams and take ownership of the commercial and contractual management of projects across the full project lifecycle, from mobilisation through to completion, while leading and supporting teams of Contract Administrators.

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in high-profile projects, working alongside Project Managers, Contract Administrators, technical specialists, clients and subcontractors to manage commercial risk, protect contractual entitlements and maximise project performance.

Day to day you will:

• Manage the commercial and contractual obligations of major projects from award through to final account
• Review contracts and translate key obligations, risks, entitlements and timeframes into practical project controls and implement dispute avoidance strategies
• Manage contractual notices, variations, Compensation Events and change mechanisms
• Manage the preparation, substantiation and negotiation of claims including delay, disruption, prolongation and loss and expense
• Partner with Project Managers to manage commercial risk, cost exposure and the impact of scope changes
• Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to Contract Administrators
• Manage subcontract commercial performance and represent Enerven in commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors
• Manage the resolution of client and subcontractor disputes

About you

You’ll bring experience in contracts or commercial management within major projects and be comfortable working closely with project teams, clients and subcontractors.

You’ll be commercially minded, confident navigating contractual requirements and able to turn complex issues into practical advice. Just as importantly, you’ll know how to protect commercial outcomes while building strong working relationships.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring:

• Experience in contract management, commercial management or a related role within infrastructure, construction, energy or utilities
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Sound knowledge of contract administration, variations, claims and contractual obligationsExperience working with major project contracts, including standard or bespoke forms
• Strong commercial judgement, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• A practical, collaborative approach and confidence working across project and site-based teams

It would be an advantage if you also have:

• Experience across transmission, substations, renewable energy, BESS or other major energy infrastructure
• Experience within a Tier 1 or major infrastructure contractor environment
