Job summary

Portable is seeking an experienced contract producer to cover capacity gaps across digital product, website design, and service design work. The role offers delivery leadership across teams, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage scope, budget, and timelines under pressure.

You’ll join a team delivering a range of project types for government, nonprofits and socially minded partners, with hybrid work from Melbourne or Adelaide. Immediate or near-term start is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering technology, design or research projects.
• Experience with government and/or not-for-profits.
• Ability to read a new team, client and project quickly.
• Comfort delivering independently with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery on one or more projects, keeping scope and timelines on track.
• Step into an existing team mid-project and ramp up quickly.
• Write or refine statements of work and manage risks and dependencies.
• Run stand-ups, workshops and client check-ins.
• Coordinate research, design and development inputs to ensure right work at the right time.
• Provide extra delivery leadership or capacity during busy periods or team gaps.
• Support in identifying, scoping and bidding for new opportunities.
