Job summary

Apex Container Services in Victoria is seeking a Container Unloader / Forklift Operator to join our team on a casual basis. You will unload containers and operate forklifts to move goods around the warehouse, contributing to efficient distribution and cargo handling.

Qualifications

• Optional forklift licence or certification, or willingness to obtain one.

• Experience in container handling or distribution warehousing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Unload containers safely and efficiently, following health and safety protocols.
• Operate forklifts to move, stack and organise goods within the warehouse.

• Maintain accurate records of goods received and processed.
• Keep the warehouse area clean, organised and free from hazards.

Job description

Apex Container Services is seeking a Container Unloader / Forklift Operator to join our Victorian team. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst contributing to the smooth operation of our container handling and distribution operations. In this role, you will be responsible for safely unloading containers and operating forklifts to move goods efficiently throughout our warehouse facility. Pathways to management are available with quick promotion timing.

Key responsibilities

• Unload containers safely and efficiently, following all health and safety protocols and company procedures
• (Optional )Operate forklifts to move, stack and organise goods within the warehouse facility
• Inspect goods for damage upon unloading and report any issues to supervisory staff
• Maintain accurate records of goods received and processed throughout the day
• Keep the warehouse work area clean, organised and free from hazards
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate container handling and movement
• Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and wear required personal protective equipment at all times
• Contribute to achieving daily operational targets and maintaining warehouse efficiency standards

What we're looking for

• (OPTIONAL) A current and valid forklift licence or certification, or willingness to obtain one
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks consistently throughout shifts
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for casual shift-based work
• Experience in container handling or distribution warehousing is highly desirable
