Job summary

Heartscope in Melbourne is inviting consulting cardiologists to join our established network. You’ll work in adult outpatient settings with patient flow, clinical infrastructure and administrative support in place from day one.

We offer flexible sessions across Melbourne clinics, with rooms, equipment and scheduling managed by our team. Compensation is negotiated with transitional arrangements if you are joining from an existing practice.

Qualifications

• FRACP with specialist training in cardiology.
• Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Experience managing adult cardiology patients independently, including assessment and follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Consult adult outpatient cardiology patients.

Job description

Consult across Melbourne with an established patient flow, full practice support and compensation options if you're transitioning an existing practice.

Heartscope, part of Scope Healthcare, provides specialist cardiology consultations and cardiac diagnostics across Greater Melbourne. We began as a mobile echocardiography service in 1995 and have since grown into an established network of cardiologists, sonographers and dedicated support teams with over 15 locations in Melbourne.

As our services and team continue to expand, we're welcoming consulting cardiologists to join Heartscope, with patient flow, clinical infrastructure and administrative support already in place. The work is adult outpatient consulting, with the ongoing care of your patients that follows from it.

What we offer

Established patient flow. Consult within an existing cardiac network with patient flow and referral relationships in place, so your sessions fill from the start.

Practice support. Rooms, equipment, reception and scheduling are in place and run by our administrative team.

Investigations close to your patients. Echocardiography, stress echocardiography, ECGs and ambulatory monitoring are done in our own clinics across Melbourne, so your patients can get an appointment in the same week at a location near them, with the results coming straight back to you. You can also refer patients for cardiac CT through Scope Radiology, and for sleep studies and respiratory testing through Sleepscope.

Marketing and referrer outreach. Our marketing team promotes your profile and builds relationships with GPs and other referring clinicians.

Flexible sessions and locations. Choose from clinics across Melbourne and sessions that fit your other commitments, from a few extra sessions to a full week.

Compensation for an agreed practice transition. If you're considering moving an established consulting practice to Heartscope, we can negotiate a transition package that includes compensation. Our team can also support continuity of care for patients who choose to continue seeing you at Heartscope.

Remuneration and benefits. Clinic locations, sessions and commercial terms are discussed individually, taking your clinical interests, existing practice and availability into account. There are also other discounts and offers available at a range of retailers, venues and services.

What we're looking for

FRACP with specialist training in cardiology, or a recognised equivalent.

Specialist registration in cardiology with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA, in place before commencement.

Experience managing adult cardiology patients independently, including assessment, treatment planning and follow-up across a broad outpatient caseload.

Clear communication with patients, referring GPs and other treating clinicians.

Sound clinical judgement and reliable follow-through, including timely correspondence and continuity of care.

Eligibility for the relevant Medicare provider numbers and appropriate professional indemnity cover.

We welcome cardiologists with a broad general cardiology practice and those with particular clinical interests they'd like to develop through their consultations.
